Jalan Satok Sunday Market |
The Sunday market at Kuching's Jalan Satok is a colourful place where villagers from the region bring their fresh jungle herbs and fruits not available elsewhere. Traders bring their goods in on Saturday afternoon and the Sunday market begins at 5 am.
This exciting market offers visitors a chance to explore the unusual herbs, fruits, plants and animals that Sarawakians use in food and medicine. The ambience and the friendly locals make this an exciting outing - right in the heart of Kuching.

Once you've worked up an appetite strolling through the market, head for one of the local chinese coffee shops for breakfast. The perfect way to start the day, if you ask the regulars, is with a cup of strong Sarawakian coffee and a pau, or bun, stuffed with savoury meat. |
How to get there |
By Foot or Taxi.
The Jalan Satok Sunday Market is at the junction of Jalan Satok and Jalan Palm, opposite the Miramar Cinema.
By Bus
Buses 4a and 4b from the Matang transport Company bus station on Jalan P. Ramlee or from the post office go to the market. It is a 5 minute bus ride. |
